Graduate students, undergraduate students, and post-baccalaureate trainees currently enrolled at CSU Dominguez Hills are welcome to apply. No prior research experience is required to join.
Research assistants are expected to commit approximately 8–10 hours per week for at least one academic year. During their time in the lab, RAs will:
Gain hands-on experience with a variety of research methodologies, such as survey design, behavioral experiments, ecological momentary assessment, and intervention delivery.
Participate in tasks including study recruitment and retention, data collection and cleaning, data management, literature reviews, and preparation of conference posters or manuscripts.
Attend and contribute to regular lab meetings, journal article discussions, and skill-building workshops.
Engage in administrative support tasks to help maintain the lab’s ongoing research efforts.
Students who demonstrate commitment and strong performance during their first semester will have opportunities to pursue their own research questions through independent or team projects. These may culminate in conference presentations or senior theses, upon mutual agreement with Dr. Convertino and the student.
Yes! Students may enroll in directed research units to receive academic credit for their time in the RESETS Lab (PSY 498 for undergraduate students; PSY 598 for graduate students).
Students in the MA in Clinical Psychology program can also count their lab hours toward supervised research practicum hours, particularly for those on the LPCC licensure track.
Complete the survey here. Dr. Convertino will reach out after reviewing your submission.
